That's low. The article says "Tobin, whose father is state Rep. David Tobin, R-Windham, is well known in Republican circles. The younger Tobin was an adviser to Sens. Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and former Sen. William Cohen."

Why should Maine republicans be any different from their national brethren? They all dispise fair elections. They won't be happy until they create a One Party State...it's ironic when you think how much these people hate communists, but they share a common love of totalitarianism.

What I thought was especially lame was the fact that: "Rumors of his involvment in the phone-jamming didn't stop him (perhaps it helped him...) from being chosen as the regional chairman of the Bush re-election campaign." (Sorry to quote myself, but I am being lazy.) Not only did they initially conduct this illegal activity, they were arrogant & shameless enough to think that they could get away with it even after it was widley known.
Sometimes when I learn about this stuff, I think that Democrats can never out politick Republicans. I feel bad enough when I re-frame when writing something about Republicans (e.g. when I called the illegal activity an "offensive" in the entry). I think that for the majoirty of us liberals, our core beliefs preclude such underhanded tactics.
