Roll Call

I'm sorry to say that today Mike Michaud, a man I admire and have volunteered for, voted for the bankruptcy bill in the House along with 72 other Democrats. On a related note, John Edwards today published a mea culpa for having also supported this legislation in the past.

Both Allen and Michaud voted against the estate tax repeal, Snowe and Collins will most likely support it. This tax affects only an estimated 24 uber-wealthy families in the entire state of Maine.

Shades of the 2004 campaign...

"I was for the bankruptcy bill before I was against it!"

Bravo, Mike Michaud. Too many people walk away from credit card debt. Some of Mike's votes aren;t that bad!

It can be hard to forget that Mike in many ways is a moderate. Too bad about this vote...having interned for him in the past, though, he does a really good job for the state (and is a helluva nice guy).

Did Michaud get money from MBNA?

Michaud got $10,000 from MBNA in 2004 and (as far as I can tell) nothing in 2002. It isn't one of his top 20 contributors.

All but 3 members of the Blue Dog Coalition  (of which Michaud is a member) voted for the bill.
